Why I design the logo?

I take part in one project named "Guide to campus" from Coventry University Office Teaching and Learning . The project aims for Chinese students who want come to Coventry University or they just want to consider and evalue the university quality.  So the project  establish one professional team to make video focus on chinese people and international students. 

How to design Logo?

My major is media and communication. It not belong to design major. Then I go to internet and library to check book . I understand if you want to design one Logo. The first one, you need to realize and understand relation background and who is the logo "customer".

In my opinion, because the project aims and focus to Chinese students ,so the Logo need to express the Chinese Characters. 

1.Chinese people like red and yellow color. 

2. "Guide to Campus" project want to give international students 'Guiding"means and give people "show' and "how to" meaning. So i want to use "arrow"and "landmark" character in the Logo

3. 'Guide to campus"project want to express Coventry university like your home, it will warm, friendly , take care for you. So i want to use "smell face "character in the logo.
